Chrysanthemum and PeonyItalic type face is Japanese reading
Chrysanthemum and peony. If you don't know about fireworks so much, you have heard and read at somewhere about these two name of shell. (left: Chrysanthemum color change blue to red)
Japanese rounded shell are classify these typical and basic two type of shells.
That is chrysanthemum and peony. In other words, All rounded shell are always belongs to these two type, or evolution model of from these two type.
Chrysanthemum(Kiku) look very much like peony(Botan).
But chrysanthemum are different from peony in basic. Can you tell what they are at a glance?

Then, I try make it clear where chrysanthemum is different from peony.
Use special star
First of all, I say conclusion.
A point of difference in each "star".
Chrysanthemum structure as round shell is almost the same as peony. But each main parent(outer) star(Oyaboshi) use special.
Chrysanthemum putted in "Chrysanthemum star(Kiku boshi).
Peony putted in "Peony star(Botan boshi).
Now I show structure in section of each stars. Please see right fig in section. This examples both changing color stars from blue to red. Do you find where the differece?
Yes, Chrysanthemum star have one more layer in outer blue compound. What is this layer.
This layer is characteristic point of chrysanthemum.
We cold this outer layer "Hiki". It's mean is like a "light traler".
Chrysanthemum star
After burst, burning traler layer at first. Next burning each compound and changing color. You feel short delay until appear each color(photo left-chrysanthemum change color red to flash).
"Chrysanthemum leave trace of star" I written at the beginning of this article. "leave trace" is this traler layer.
A compound of this layer, leave cinders as visible trace. There are some kind of compound. Typical powder is traditional black powder. It leave dark charcoal burnig color(dark orange) trace.
Peony star
Peony(photo right) star is not have outer traler layer. So after burst, appear each color without delay. These color compound layer not leave visible trace.
Is chrysanthemum always not use peony star?
Not, this pics show chrysanthemum with double pistil. This shell use chrysanthemum star in outer petal naturally. but inner two pistil layer are consist of peony stars. Why did such making? Probably, builder intend to show two pistils more clearly not hinder by outer main stars. If use peony star in outer, it overlap pistil color and become dull and feeble impression.
In a practical, chrysanthemum and peony star use independently or join them together.
I f builder use chrysanthemum star in outer petal layer, it is a series of chrysanthemum shell. If use peony star in outer, that is a series of peony shell.
When launching many shells at a stretch like starmine, it consist of all peony shell usually. because it give more obvious impression to the audience. For peony shell appear claeary color at right after burst without delay.
Chrysanthemum shell are suitable for watching over 9 inch shell and one by one launching.
